On a broad scope, the job description of a Multimedia Specialist is multi-faceted. This person works with varied responsibilities in the field of multimedia design and knows computer technology extremely well. They work in creative, interactive media and are responsible for video production and Web-based applications geared to educate, entertain or inform. Moreover, one might act as a liaison between development teams and marketing specialists, not only designing a product, but managing its course to completion with finesse.
What can I expect to learn in the Multimedia Specialist program?
A wide range of computer technology proficiency training and application is required, namely via information and communication technology (ICT) products. You will train with Adobe product training that allows for any number of video editing and animation features—which ultimately encourages interaction by the end-user.
InterCoast Colleges will teach you to create special effects using film or other electronic media. Combined with your own personal talent and the new skills gained aboard with us, you will be able to create CD’s, computer games, websites, music, videos, and more. Program Objectives

The Multimedia training courses prepare individuals to apply HTML, XML, Javascript, graphics applications, and other authoring tools to design, edit, and publish (launch) documents, images, graphics, sound, and multimedia products on the World Wide Web.
The curriculum includes instruction in:

- Elements of web page design
- User interfaces

- E-commerce tools

As a student, you will develop design skills using the Adobe Creative Suite 5 software; which includes Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Acrobat 9, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Fireworks, and Audition.
These, and many other software packages will permit the Multimedia Specialist the ability to incorporate the work of other specialists working in conjunction with them, including writers, producers, and sound engineers, to promote a final product successfully.

Where and When? You will probably work normal business hours of nine to five, with an exception of extra hours during times where critical deadlines must be reached. You will work desk-side in an office setting, or some companies offer the flexibility of working from home.
Freelance or Contract Work? Many experienced multimedia specialists work as consultants or on fixed-term contracts. For optimum flexibility, experienced multimedia professionals may choose to start up their own companies.
