What IS a Multimedia specialist?

What will i learn?

A Multimedia Specialist is well versed in the field of graphic design, animation, photography, video and web production. From designing a brochure, to shooting and editing video, a day in the life of a multimedia specialist is never dull.


They work at in-house creative departments for large companies, interactive media, marketing, events, education and are responsible for graphics video production and Web-based applications geared to educate, entertain or inform. Moreover, one might act as a liaison between development teams and marketing specialists, not only designing a product, but managing its course to completion.




As a student, you will develop design skills and a portfolio using Adobe® Creative Suite 5.5 & CC which includes Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Acrobat 9, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Fireworks, and Audition.

As a student, you will develop software skills using the Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 & the latest Creative Cloud version; which includes Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Acrobat 9, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Fireworks, and Audition.


Class lectures will be supported with hands on demos and audiovisual presentations. Via assigned projects, students will create portfolio quality designs, websites and videos that can be shown on a job interview.

Learn to use Adobe Illustrator via the following projects; logo design, t-shirt design, packaging design and more. You will also learn about the graphic design process and distributing files for printing and proofing using Adobe Acrobat.


Learn about the introductory features as well as some advanced techniques using Photoshop CS5.5 & CC. Projects include photo retouching/restoration, movie poster design, web page mock up and magazine cover design.

This course will teach the student the basics of desktop publishing using Adobe InDesign CS5.5 & CC. Learn design a trifled brochure, advertising for magazine or newspaper and an e-book.

Learn to use a DSLR camera and start to develop your print and web portfolio. Students will arrange and refine projects for inclusion in a graphic design print & web portfolio; identify industry requirements for employment; identify current events, skills, attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the industry and

relevant to the professional development of the student; and create a presentation portfolio.

Students will learn the full video production process, from inception of idea to final distribution. The course focuses especially on why each step occurs as it does and provides guidance in choosing the simplest methods of creating the shots desired in the video project. Concentrating on the techniques and concepts behind the latest equipment, this course teaches the students to demonstrate the fundamental principles needed to create good video content on any kind of budget.

Students will use Adobe® Audition™ to record and edit audio files, mix multiple tracks, master video sound tracks, and output consistent, professional sound. They will work with the features of Adobe Audition to create audio that sounds professional and sophisticated. The final project is a 2 minute podcast.

Design & Development

Students will use raw videos, recorded audio, and some still images and learn to edit and enhance a video and upload to You Tube for large-scale distribution. In this course, students will use Adobe® Premiere® Pro CC to create a "How To" video project.

Students will create and manipulate a wide variety of objects ranging from simple graphic designs to complex animation sequences using the Adobe® Flash® CS5 application. Students will use Adobe Fireworks CS5 to create vector graphics, edit bit map graphics, optimize images, create and assign rollover effects, and create multiple pages for the web

Students will design, build, and upload a website using Dreamweaver CC.
