Are you looking into getting a degree in a new field that will give you career-oriented education for employment?

Do you want to go back to school but feel you’ve passed the prime years of your life?

It’s never too late to pursue or further your education. Getting a new degree can only open more doors for you.  Earning an associate’s degree in Applied Sciences (AAS) will give you career-focused training in a specific area. For example, an AAS Degree in Business will offer training in career-focused coursework such as human resources, payroll, marketing, social media, and computerized accounting.

Below are five reasons why you should cast your fears aside and get a degree today.

1) You Will Make More Money

Having a degree unlocks doors for more money.

Specific positions that pay well often require a degree of some kind.

In some fields, earning an associate’s degree will get you paid 33% more than just having a high school diploma.

Degrees make you more employable, as you are seen as knowledgeable in your field.

2) You Can Take Classes Online

We live in an increasingly digital world, making it possible to earn a degree entirely online. 33% of college students these days take at least one online course.

Online courses are getting more user-friendly and accessible with each passing day.

One excuse adults commonly give is that they don’t have the time to go back to school. However, with online classes, you can take courses from the comfort of your own home and you can study and learn on your own schedule.  Online courses can be a cost-saving for you since you will not have to worry about costs associated with transportation and childcare.

3) You Love to Learn

Education is a lifelong journey for each of us.

The sheer love of learning is a good enough excuse to go back to school and get a new degree. You will learn new information and skills that will enrich you as a person and help you gain the knowledge you need to get a career.

4) You Will Feel Self-Empowered

The self-empowerment that comes from being handed that diploma after obtaining your degree is reason enough to pursue it.

When you get a degree you will feel valuable and important in society.

It’s not just the end goal that’s important though. Working through the process of earning your degree will make you feel on top of the world.

5) You Will Finish Fast and Won’t have to Break the Bank

Another common reason people don’t go back to school is that they don’t want to deal with the expense.

However, there are many ways to cut corners when dealing with the cost associated with earning your degree. Earning an AAS Degree can mean you will be finished in as little as 72 weeks!  This is much better for you than spending 4 years in a college program.

You can take out student loans as long as you’re mindful about paying them back. There is a multitude of ways to save money as a student, including the sweet student discounts you can get at many businesses.

It was really helpful that you mentioned that there are a lot of ways to help cover the cost of earning a degree. I’ve been wanting to go to college again now that my daughter is of age to go to school on her own. Maybe an online college finder would be a good way to find something that can work with my schedule.
