Forms of Academic Dishonesty are the categories of conduct that an academic integrity policy names as offenses, such as cheating, plagiarism and impersonation.
What the catalog says
The catalog states: “There are several other kinds of actions that are considered offenses against the standards of academic honesty, and among these are plagiarism, cheating, impersonation, aiding and abetting, collusion and falsification and fabrication…”
Cheating is any attempt to give or obtain assistance in a formal academic exercise (like an examination) without due acknowledgment.
On plagiarism: “InterCoast practices a ZERO TOLERANCE policy regarding Plagiarism…”
“Misuse of AI is considered plagiarism and is subject to the institution’s Academic Integrity policy.”
“It is a breach of academic honesty to have someone else impersonate one’s self in class, in a test or examination, or in connection with any other type of assignment or presentation in a course. Both the impersonator and the individual impersonated may be charged.”
