Emergency Response and Evacuation Procedures are an institution’s rules for notifying students and staff of a dangerous situation on campus and moving them to safety.
What the catalog says
On notification of campus emergencies: “InterCoast will, without delay and upon confirmation of a significant emergency or other dangerous situation involving an immediate threat to the health or safety of students or employees occurring on or affecting the campus, use any one or a combination of several methods to notify as many people as possible in a timely manner.”
“InterCoast students, faculty and staff may use the institution’s internal intercom system or opt to receive text and/or e-mail emergency notifications.”
“InterCoast will evaluate the circumstances of an event and will assign the appropriate priority based on safety considerations for life, property and environment, in that order.”
“Subsequent notifications to the larger community will generally be made by the Campus President.”
