Records Retention is an institution’s policy setting how long student and administrative records are kept before they may be destroyed.
What the catalog says
Such a policy is a written rule: it names each kind of record, states the minimum period it is held, and identifies the records that are kept permanently.
The catalog states: “InterCoast maintains student records for a period of at least five years from the date of student withdrawal or graduation. Student transcripts are held indefinitely (effective January 1, 2010). Any records involved in any claim or expenditure which has been questioned by federal, state or accreditation audit are retained until the question is resolved or for five years.”
