Excused Absences are absences that a school accepts for an approved reason, allowing missed assignments and assessments to be made up.
What the catalog says
The catalog states: “Assignments and assessments may be made up under an excused absence.”
“For an absence to be considered excusable, students must provide reason for the absence to the Student Success Partner, Academic Mentor, or Instructor for approval. Written documentation may be requested.”
It also notes: “Excused absences will count as absences in the calculation of attendance rates and will not increase the maximum number of allowable absences.”
