Policy

What Is the Tardiness / Early Departure Policy?

Tardiness / Early Departure Policy is an attendance rule that sets when arriving late to a class session, or leaving before it ends, counts as tardy.

What the catalog says

“Students are expected to be on time for each on campus session of instruction and are expected to attend for the entire session of class.”

“A student is considered tardy for class if he/she arrives later than 15 minutes after the scheduled start of class or if they leave early from class.”

A student leaves class or lab more than 15 minutes before the end of the class or lab on campus.

“Students will be responsible for any course content missed by showing up tardy or leaving early.”

Where it applies

InterCoast Colleges’ catalog states this under “TARDINESS / EARLY DEPARTURE POLICY” (p. 33).

It sits with the absenteeism policy, excused absences and make-up work across the programs.
