Plagiarism is the adoption or reproduction of original creations of another author without due acknowledgment, and is a form of academic dishonesty.
What it means
The catalog states: “InterCoast practices a ZERO TOLERANCE policy regarding Plagiarism but at the same time, we understand that sometimes such instances may be inadvertent or unintentional, especially with the ease of access to information via the Internet.”
“Any use of the work of others, whether published, unpublished or posted electronically (e.g., on web sites), attributed or anonymous, must include proper acknowledgement.”
“Misuse of AI is considered plagiarism and is subject to the institution’s Academic Integrity policy.”
What the catalog says
InterCoast Colleges’ catalog states this under “HONOR SYSTEM POLICY (Academic Integrity)” (pp. 48–52).
On aiding and abetting: “Anyone who helps or enables another in cheating, impersonation, plagiarism, or any other breach of academic honesty will be subject to the penalties outlined in the institution’s policy.”
