Refrigerant recovery is the safe removal and capture of refrigerant from an air-conditioning or refrigeration system so that it can be reclaimed rather than released. At InterCoast Colleges it is taught in the HVAC Technician program.
What it covers
In this course the student will learn the core section of EPA regulation under section 608 of the Clean Air Act, as it relates to refrigerants and refrigerant handling. This course will also provide instruction on leak detection, evacuation, charging, and system cleanup.
The catalog adds: “Emphasis is placed on principles of safety practices handling refrigerant.”
