Semester Credit Hour Measurement is the rule a school uses to state how many hours of instruction — lecture, laboratory, internship — equal one semester credit.
What the catalog says
For the Financial Aid Semester Credit Hour, 1 credit equals 1 (one) or any combination of 30 (thirty) hours in Theory, Lecture, Demonstration, Supervised Practice, Laboratory, Internship, and/or Externship. Under the Academic Semester Credit, 1 credit equals the equivalent of either 15 hours of Lecture, 30 hours of Laboratory or Supervised Practice, or 45 hours of Internship/Externship, or a combination thereof.
The catalog also defines the clock hour: “A clock hour equals 60 minutes of training, of which 10 minutes are allowed for a student break.”
