Semester Credit Hour Measurement is an institution’s stated rule for converting hours of instruction — lecture, laboratory, supervised practice, internship — into the semester credits a course carries.
What the catalog says
Two measures are stated: “Financial Aid Semester Credit Hour: 1 credit equals 1 (one) or any combination of 30 (thirty) hours in Theory, Lecture, Demonstration, Supervised Practice, Laboratory, Internship, and/or Externship.”
“A clock hour equals 60 minutes of training, of which 10 minutes are allowed for a student break.”
The second measure reads: “Academic Semester Credit: 1 credit equals the equivalent of either 15 hours of Lecture, 30 hours of Laboratory or Supervised Practice, or 45 hours of Internship/Externship, or a combination thereof.”
